Inside Paris libertin (swinger) clubs

You are inside a Paris libertin club for couples only. This is what happens.

Leave your outdoor clothes and your valuables with the lady at the vestiaire (cloakroom). This includes money, credit cards and mobile phones. The vestiare is safe and it’s free although it’s customary to leave a few euros when you depart. Clubs will not allow you to go further inside with handbags, jackets, etc.

You do not undress when you enter a Paris libertin club unless it is a sauna. It is your choice to take your clothes off when you wish.

You will be given either a plastic disk with a number or a card with your first names on it. If it’s a number, keep it in your pocket. If it’s card, leave it at the bar. You pay when you leave. Visa, Mastercards are accepted.

All Paris libertin clubs are licensed to sell alcohol. Parisians do not get drunk in libertin clubs and they do not use drugs to the extent that clubs do not even need to talk about it. The Paris libertin world is a mature society.

The entry price for a couple includes one free drink each. This can be champagne or bottled water. Drinks are served in glesses not plastic. It is forbidden to take drinks into the intimate areas.

Extra drinks are expensive. Drinks in any type of Paris clubs are expensive - around €15 a drink. You are not there to drink but you might want to share a ‘bon moment’ with new friends.

Smoking is forbidden except in specially designated booths which have extractor fans.

The majority of clubs are divided between intimate areas and social areas. The social areas will consist of a bar with seating and often a restaurant and a disco. The intimate areas are usually well separated from the social areas.

There are showers and clean towels. Condoms are available on request.

Paris libertin clubs do not have a problem with escorts or professionals. Escorts are legal in France but the organisation of them is illegal. A later post will explain the french definition of an escort which is different from the english definition.

What differentiates clubs is their policy for single men.

If you are a couple, only go when it’s exclusively for couples unless madam likes a lot of men.

If you are a bisexual woman, go as a couple when it’s couples only. Single women can sometimes enter alone or with another couple.

If you are a single man, find a partner, it’s not too difficult.
