Typically in the age range 25-30, she can easily be a little younger or older, the young Parisian girl started dieting at 12 years old, was put on the contraceptive pill by her doctor at 14, is good looking and even when not so good looking, always very presentable. She dresses attractively and with a nice smile she talks to you with her eyes.

She has had plenty of sexual experience with boys, mostly of the same age and usually without great satisfaction. Probably now living with an unmarried male partner, it needs two incomes to pay the rent in Paris, she feels a need to explore her sexuality, seeking new experiences and especially to explore the possibilities of bisexuality although she is not lesbian.

There is plenty of sensual female sexual activity in couples only libertin clubs. But how does she get in? She needs a male partner. This is one typical evolution:

Stage One
After going on the popular forums such as doctissimo.fr or aufeminin.fr, she arrives for the first time at a club on a busy Saturday night with her regular partner, watches the action, cannot participate because of the possession and jealousy of the boy and also a certain timidity from her, leaves the club frustrated while her partner is turned on. There will be a discussion.

This blog calls them the ‘wall people.’ Couples stand with their backs against a wall and watch participants, perfectly acceptable behaviour although a little sad. Yet our young Parisian girl wants to return and explore further.

Stage Two
She finds another partner of her age with an agreement that she can do what she wants in the club libertin. She’s cheating on her partner but this happens. The boy is probably not much better. She revisits the club having some good contact with other boys and girls of all ages but there is as always a discussion afterwards and a reliable partner becomes necessary.

Stage Three
She finds a man older than her who will be more patient and considerate with an understanding that she can follow her sexual wishes. This works much better and is not unusual. Another option is to find a couple to enter with [a couple plus a single woman is usually possible].

Stage Four
She finds a regular reliable partner for clubbing, can be any age or appearance but has her freedom to discover her sexuality and then moves on to the next stage of her life.

Some girls get to Stage Four. But this blog has seen young attractive girls regularly come back with different partners at Stage Two in an effort to explore their sexuality. This is non-venal, no money is involved.

Given the chance, the young Parisian girl wants to explore her sexuality to the full. And remember, all French teenagers know about clubs libertins.

There are very big differences between French clubs libertins and swingers clubs in English speaking countries. French clubs do not have membership, no ID is ever required and there is no age restriction apart from being at least 18 years old. Race and colour is never a problem. It’s about pleasure.

Nobody knows your name, in some cases a first name is required but you can say any name as long as you remember it. Privacy is guaranteed. What happens behind closed doors, stays there. Looks are not important but presentation, attitude, behaviour and respect are very important.

Any French club can refuse entry but only a couple of snob Paris clubs are capable of refusing even the most beautiful couple. Regular Paris clubbers report that the action is not so great in these snob clubs. More of this in a later blog.

Some clubs in English speaking countries have a selection process based on submitted photos, ID and age restrictions. Some of this is necessary to stay within the law but all of it is totally alien to the French. It goes against French culture because love is for everybody and the best lovemakers are rarely the most beautiful.

The French argue that a less good looking woman has to better in bed. Very good looking women are too concerned about their appearance and stars and models are totally useless.

Many of the best libertins and libertines in Paris will not be accepted by the photo-selectionning by clubs in Englsh speaking countries.

Saturday night at l’Overside (2)

The driving force for the 25-35 young couples in L’Overside comes from the girls who are bisexual. They want to explore their sexuality and experience new pleasures.

The reason why some of them don’t participate is because the boys are not adventurous. Boys of this age are usually possessive and jealous and totally shocked when they find that their partners are bisexual. This often happens at L’Overside.

It is not unusual for a girl to return with a different partner on another evening so that she can explore her sexuality. This is why many young girls prefer to go to libertin clubs with older men - more freedom, more experiences, more pleasure.

L’Overside has plenty of couples of all ages who freely participate. After midnight, it’s hot with couples still arriving. At any one time, there are 30-40 couples moving between the rooms.

As you enter the intimate rooms, on the right, there is a box on the wall with free condoms. In the last two rooms, some couples, usually first timers will be standing against the wall watching the others. It’s ok for a girl to smile and give a gentle touch or caress to another girl. There is usually a positive reponse. If it’s no, smile say something nice and move on. Do not persist.

Almost all women in participating couples are bisexual. If they have a very heavy sexual desire for men, they will go to any club which allows single men. Couples only clubs means bisexual women.

It is necessary to understand two french terms for the libertin world, échangisme and mélangisme. Echangisme is when usually two couples swap partners. Melangisme is when several couples have sexual relations as a group, contact with more than one person at the same time, more points of contact, more pleasure. Echangisme appeals to male desires. Melangisme appeals to female desires.

Couples only clubs lean to mélangisme. The last room in L’Overside has two large beds, each big enough for five or six couples. This with ‘le Salon Grec’, first room on the left is where mélangisme happens. These rooms attract the most voyeurs, not a problem. If they do not participate, they go home for a very hot night.

When you are ready to leave, go to the bar and collect your card. Give it to the lady at the ‘vestiaire’ who will give you your coats and belongings. You pay her and it is courtesy to leave 2 or 3 euros in the box to the left.

Walking up the steps back into very quiet, respectable Paris is surrelistic. There are usually taxis waiting on the road. If not, walk up towards Montparnesse to the main road where plenty of taxis come past. They are available if they have 3 lights on.

Saturday night at l’Overside (1)

L’Overside is a very different club to the 2plus2. Open only in evenings, this club attracts a younger, less experienced crowd with many beautiful bisexual women who may or not participate, but most want to. This is the first choice club for beginners, mainly young girls who want to explore. But, there are plenty of older experienced people in the club. And there is always plenty of action.

First time visitors have difficulty finding ‘L’Overside Club.’ Some couples don’t find the entrance and go home. So a night of sexual expectancy can end in disappointment, just see the blogs.

This club is situated in the very respectable sixth arrondissement on the Left Bank.
The address is 92, rue de Cherche-midi. Taxi drivers know this address.

It’s a five minute walk from the Metro Saint Placide. When you arrive at rue de Cherche-midi walk on the right side of the street just past a Hotel after which there are large metal railing gates which are open when the club is open. Go down all of the steps and there is a door on the right with a bell, ring it - and you’re in. There are no signs.

On Fridays and Saturdays, there is a ‘voiturier’ (a man who will park your car), so it’s obvious and you can ask.

L’Overside allows single men on Wednesdays and Sundays with a great formula. Couples are admitted at 8.30 pm at a reduced price with a superb buffet with free wine. At 10.30 pm single men are allowed in a ratio one man: one couple. On a Sunday, there are 50 couples. If you are a single man, this is your best chance.

Saturday nights are couples only. Single women can be admitted with a couple with prior arrangement. The club opens at 10.30 pm but most people arrive at 11.30 pm to midnight, and many later. After 11.30 pm there are usually 70 couples. English speakers who always arrive early don’t see any action and leave disappointed. The action goes on late into the night. Some couples leave at 2.00 pm. After that there are still plenty of couples and it’s hot.

Follow the normal dress code for a Paris club. When you enter, leave everything at the reception. You will be asked your first names. These are written on a card which is given to you. Walk through into the club, turn right to the bar and give the card to one of the barmen, Olivier or Vincent, they both speak English.

As in any club libertin, you each have one free drink - anything. Extra drinks are recorded on your card which you take to the reception to collect your belongings and to pay when you leave.

L’Overside is divided into two clear parts. As you walk in, on the right is the bar, seating, dance foor and live disco DJ.

On the left is the intimate areas consisting of a labyrinth of passages and rooms:
Le Backroom - with a lockable door
La Caverne - an alcove for two couples
Le Salon Indien - for beginners
La Galerie - a passage with mirrors
Le Salon Grec - a large hexagonal room
La Roseraie - two beds separated by a grill
La Fetish Zone - witha cross and a cage
La Mosaique - two big beds with mirrors and a glory hole.

On the right, upstairs, above the Disco, there are more intimate places.

Never take drinks into any intimate area in a Paris libertin club. Nicolae is the security guy for the intimate areas. He stops single men going into the intimate areas who have simply found a woman to get entrance. Make sure you’re a real couple.

Afternoons at the 2plus2 club

The 2plus2 club is unique in Paris. One of the oldest, this club libertin is open seven days a week, mornings and evenings, always for couples only. After 27 years at another Paris address, le 2plus2 has been at 9, bouevard Edgar Quinet in the 14th arrondissement for the last 10 years. Go up the stairs from Metro Edgar Quinet (line 6), turn left and cross the road. Walk towards the cemetry. The entrance has two trees ouside with lights on them.

This is a family club, management passing from parents to children. They have a straightforward policy which is very successful. Every afternoon, they open at 2.00 pm to welcome naughty Paris. Other clubs open at 4.00 pm and welcome single men.

The clientele is very mixed with a balance of older people who have been libertins for a long time but also enough attractive younger girls and boys. Most people are very experienced and full participation is virtually 100%.

Entering is typical for a Paris libertin club. Ring the bell, wait, the door opens, walk along a corridor into the ground floor of the club, leave everything at the reception - it’s safe - and you are given a number. The cost of the afternoon (53 euros a couple) including a free drink each - alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

The ground floor consists of a large bar, plenty of seating, a dance floor and a restaurant (evenings only). There are some private booths and a sealed area for smokers. Upstairs is where the action happens. The decoration in the style of a ‘maison close’ (brothel) is appropriate because this establishment was a ‘maison close’ in the Thirties called the ‘Sphinx’ whose clients included Henry Miller and Apollinaire. There are showers and towels are supplied. Condoms - ‘préservatifs’ (pray-serve-a-teefs) are available on request.

In the afternoons, le 2plus2 is naughty Paris. Most couples do not go home together. There are secretaries who go back to the office, women who arrive in trousers changing into slinky dresses brought in plastic bags, escorts who adore the scene and participate fully, managers from offices, arranged couples who drive 100 kilometres to Paris and back for pleasure and privacy, genuine couples who have been going for many years, the teacher whose husband cheated on her and everything else imaginable in total privacy.

Most couples arrive between 2.00 and 2.30 pm and leave between 5.00 and 5.30 pm. Some couples arrive after work. It is possible to remain in the club right through the evening.

Downstairs, couples look at each other over a drink in a very quiet French way. English speaking people are often uncomfortable in this situation but there is no need to be. Remember most of the women are bisexual. Couples go upstairs where the approaches are more direct. Everything is red. There is seating where you can observe. The lighting is dim. You are free to do what you want. Plenty of people speak very basic English. Try a few words in French, it helps.

One piece of advice, there are two sets of stairs. Go up the stairs at the far end of the bar. At the top, on the left there is a door to the showers. Go in and take two large towels before going into the main room.

Depending on the weekday, there can be 12 to 25 couples but there is always action. Weekend afternoons can be quieter but it always remains couples only.

Pay on leaving, additional drinks cost 11-15 euros. Most people go back.
